The details for the four Magic: The Gathering x Star Trek Commander decks have been revealed, and pre-orders are now open. The pre-order period runs from November 6 to 12, with a global release date of November 13. The suggested retail price for each Standard Edition deck is $74.99.
The four decks are "Starfleet Command," "Away Team," "Klingon Aggression," and "We Are the Borg," themed around Jean-Luc Picard, Spock, Worf, and the Borg collective, respectively. These products collectively include 32 new cards that have not previously appeared in Magic: The Gathering.
Each Standard Edition is a ready-to-play 100-card Commander deck, featuring one borderless illustrated traditional foil commander, 99 non-foil cards, and 10 double-sided token cards. It also includes a deck box, strategy guide, and reference cards.
Amazon pre-order prices vary by deck, with three priced below the suggested retail price, while "We Are the Borg" remains at $74.99. All Collector Edition cards feature Surge Foil treatment; at the time, Amazon had no non-reseller stock available, and TCGplayer showed market prices already hovering around the $200 range.
Cards from these Commander decks are not legal in Standard format but are legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage formats.
