Studio To:NEMO released the demo for the boy's adventure game "To the Us of Yesterday" on Steam on October 29, covering content from the prologue to Chapter 1, with an estimated playtime of about two hours. The game plans to launch its free Early Access on March 12, 2027, lasting approximately six months.
The story takes place in "Himmels Crest," a borderland at the end of the world. This area retains ruins from a previous civilization but has also been overtaken by lush nature. A boy named Shin, who has lost all memories except his name, is rescued by a girl named Elena and an old man named Dustin. As the three live together, Shin gradually finds a sense of belonging. After Elena suggests heading to the city she longs for, their once-peaceful daily life begins to change.
The game begins one month into the trio's life together, then returns to one month before their meeting due to a strange nighttime incident. Players must piece together the characters' thoughts and the truth of the world by combining "memories" spent with the characters and "records" left behind in the world. The protagonist's journal will also be continuously updated as events progress and relics from the previous civilization are discovered.
The Early Access version will include main and side story content, with additional side stories to be added later, along with improvements to presentation and features. The full release is also planned to be free.
"To the Us of Yesterday" will also participate in Tokyo Game Dungeon 14 on October 31. The event will feature ending illustrations, offer a special 10-minute demo, and hold a vote on Elena's future direction, with the results planned to be included in the post-game gallery.
