Lazy Flock, the developer of Ghost Paws, has publicly accused Ghost Whiskers of unauthorized copying of its work and using AI-generated assets. Following Nintendo's latest Indie World presentation, a demo for Ghost Paws became available, but both games continue to appear simultaneously in Nintendo eShop search results.
Ghost Paws is a two-player cooperative Dog.exe game where two dogs enter a haunted mansion to find their owners, with players able to choose different breeds. Ghost Whiskers replaces the protagonists with two cats, following a similar premise of entering a haunted house to find their owners. The former is scheduled for release next May, while the latter was released in September.
Even after Ghost Paws and its demo were listed on the store, Ghost Whiskers still appears in search results, despite Ghost Whiskers' product description not including "Ghost Paws" as a keyword. Back in January, Lazy Flock publicly accused the other party of appropriating its concepts, visuals, and story, and using AI-generated assets.
Ghost Whiskers is published by Nostra Games. The publisher has previously released several titles accused of imitating games such as Fallout Shelter, Two Point Hospital, and Crossy Road. What can be confirmed so far is that both products appear side-by-side in eShop search results, and Lazy Flock has made public accusations; no official rulings from Nintendo, Nostra Games, or judicial authorities have been provided yet.
