Titanfall 2, released by Respawn Entertainment in 2016, marks its tenth anniversary on October 28. Electronic Arts and Respawn did not prepare in-game updates or server-side anniversary events for the original title, instead adding themed badges and trackers to Apex Legends, which shares the same universe. This has left some long-time players disappointed.
These players had hoped the tenth anniversary would bring more attention to Titanfall 2 itself. The milestone sparked a wave of nostalgic discussion within the community, but there remains a noticeable gap between the official commemoration and player expectations.
Titanfall 2 was released around the same time as Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, a launch window considered less than ideal. Nevertheless, its single-player campaign, level design exemplified by "Effect and Cause," along with its parkour and high-speed combat mechanics, have kept it regarded as a classic among players and media alike.
There are currently no clear signs of a full third installment in development. The PC and console servers for Titanfall 2 remain playable, with the multiplayer mode continuing to be kept active by a dedicated player base.
