Bandai Namco Entertainment announced Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 3 on October 28. The title will launch on PC and PlayStation 5 with a free-to-play model featuring in-game purchases, and will support cross-platform multiplayer. The official service start date has not yet been determined.
As the new entry in the online team-based battle series, the game will expand its roster beyond the Universal Century timeline to include other Gundam works. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED will be included at launch, with plans to add two or three more titles during the first year of operation. Mass-produced units, including the BuCUE, will also appear.
In terms of systems, all mobile suits will gain "SP Skills" to enhance their unique characteristics, and the game will introduce a "Combat Assist" feature to make executing combos easier. The publisher also released a promotional video showcasing multiple mobile suits and infantry units.
An early online test for Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 players is scheduled for November 20 and 22. Registration will be open from the end of maintenance on October 29 until 23:59 on November 8. Details regarding test regions, participant capacity, specific participation requirements for PC and PS5, and data inheritance from the previous title have not yet been announced.
