The file size for GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto VI) is rumored to be around 210GB. According to estimates by the unofficial fan account "GTA 6 Unlimited," downloading the full game on a 10Mbps connection would take approximately 46 hours and 40 minutes, meaning players with slower internet speeds might not finish downloading immediately upon launch.
Based on these estimates, a 25Mbps connection would take approximately 18 hours and 40 minutes, while a 50Mbps connection would take about 9 hours and 20 minutes. For 100Mbps, 200Mbps, and 300Mbps connections, the download times would be roughly 4 hours and 40 minutes, 2 hours and 20 minutes, and 1 hour and 33 minutes, respectively.
Even faster connections still require some waiting: a 500Mbps connection is estimated to take around 56 minutes, and a 1Gbps connection about 28 minutes. The approximate 210GB file size and the download times mentioned above are based on unofficial information and are not confirmed specifications from Rockstar.
Rockstar's official store page reportedly indicates that pre-loading will begin on November 12, about a week before the game's release on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. The PS5 physical edition may also include a download code in the box, requiring buyers to download the full game data regardless.
