Arm AGI CPU Coming Soon to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Building on OCI’s existing Arm architecture computing portfolio,

This implementation plan will further meet the growing demands of general-purpose cloud workloads and agent-based AI.

At the Oracle AI World conference, Oracle announced plans to introduce Arm AGI CPUs to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) in fall 2027. This initiative will provide its customers with high-performance Arm architecture computing capabilities, supporting both the cloud applications customers are currently running and helping them build future agent-based AI services.

Following Arm’s announcement at COMPUTEX this June that OCI is joining the Arm AGI CPU ecosystem, this development will further drive collaboration between the two parties and clarify the roadmap for delivering this computing power to Oracle customers in the future.

Arm’s Role in OCI Continues to Expand

Arm has become an important foundation of OCI’s computing portfolio. Arm-based products from Ampere support a wide range of workloads, including enterprise applications, containers, web services, and data processing. Furthermore, the Arm-based NVIDIA Vera CPU is now commercially available on OCI, further expanding this foundation to provide high-performance computing capabilities for agent AI and enterprise workloads. With the future addition of Arm AGI CPUs, this portfolio will be further expanded, solidifying the important position of the Arm ecosystem in Oracle’s cloud and AI infrastructure.

Mahesh Thiagarajan, President of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, stated: “Arm-based computing power is a crucial component of the performance, efficiency, and diverse choices we offer OCI customers. With Arm AGI CPUs, we plan to extend these advantages further to general-purpose cloud workloads and agent AI, providing customers with more high-performance computing options to help them scale their applications and build new AI services.”

High-Performance Computing for Cloud and Agent AI

This opportunity stems from both mature cloud workloads and new demands driven by AI. Agents need applications, databases, and services to complete tasks. Meanwhile, as agents execute code, retrieve data, call tools, and coordinate tasks, they generate new CPU demands. Therefore, infrastructure must efficiently handle these growing needs at scale.

The Arm AGI CPU combines high-performance Arm Neoverse cores, high memory bandwidth, and a design that maintains sustained performance under load. These capabilities are designed to help data centers accomplish more effective work within power and thermal constraints, providing the performance and energy efficiency required for cloud applications and agent systems.

Equally important, this progress builds on a mature software foundation. OCI’s investment in the Arm ecosystem already covers Oracle Linux, Java, MySQL, and widely used cloud-native tools. This allows developers to gain more computing choices while still using familiar software ecosystems.

This is precisely the value that the continuous development of the Arm ecosystem should bring: more innovation, more choices, and more ways for customers to fully leverage the value of high-performance computing. Through collaboration with Oracle, Arm is extending this opportunity to enterprises’ current applications and into the AI services shaping the future.
