Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson is listing his luxury mansion in the Los Angeles area for sale at $70 million, the same price he originally paid for it.
In 2014, Notch sold Minecraft developer Mojang to Microsoft for $2.5 billion and subsequently moved to the United States. When purchasing this Beverly Hills mansion, he competed against Jay-Z and Beyoncé, finally closing the deal at $70 million.
After Notch sold Mojang, he hasn't released any other major games, while Minecraft continues to receive updates and remains widely popular. Microsoft recently launched the spin-off sequel Minecraft Dungeons 2, where players can control blocky characters as warriors or mages to explore Diablo-like dungeons.
Additionally, the Minecraft movie has grossed over $700 million worldwide, with a sequel in development. Currently, this property listing is part of Notch's personal affairs and is not directly related to any new content announcements for Minecraft.
