"Needle in a Haystack" Developer Accuses Similar Title of Copying Code Line by Line

NoGlyph, developer of the co-op game Finding A Needle In A Haystack, has accused the similarly themed title A Game About Finding A Needle In A Haystack of copying their code line-by-line without permission, even retaining the original error messages. Currently, this claim has not been confirmed by the platform or any third party.

The related allegations first appeared in the Steam discussion forum for A Game About Finding A Needle In A Haystack; the original post has since been deleted. Content saved by Reddit users shows that the poster, Jahvin, claimed to be associated with NoGlyph and the Steamworks development page, stating that the copied code came from the September 20 and 21, 2026 demo builds of Finding A Needle In A Haystack.

A Game About Finding A Needle In A Haystack was released on October 16. SteamDB update records indicate that the title appears to have been removed from Steam about nine days ago, and the old store page can currently only be viewed via web archives.

While similar game concepts differ from directly copying code, the specific claims made by NoGlyph cannot be independently verified at this time, as the related work is no longer accessible. Existing materials also do not prove the exact reason for Valve's removal of the title, so this incident currently remains a claim of code theft made by the developer.
