This remaster was handled by ZOOM Platform Media, rather than the original development team, Digital Spray Studios, which has been inactive for years. The developers stated that, unable to access the source code, they had to reverse-engineer the binary programs, executable files, and script execution methods.

The new version features improved graphics, adjustable field of view, a brand-new sprint mechanic, achievements, and controller support. It also reduces loading times and enhances frame rate stability, reaching up to 144 FPS. Since its release, the game has garnered over 90% positive reviews on Steam. In contrast, the original North American version launched in 2007 and received poor ratings due to performance issues, with an average Metacritic score of 34.

Set in an alternate history Soviet Kyiv, the game begins with the player waking up in a hospital and navigating through areas overrun by monsters and zombie-like hordes. The gameplay follows a linear exploration and shooting structure. The standard edition is priced at $7.99, while the complete edition, which includes the soundtrack, is $9.99. There are currently no plans to release the game on PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch.
