How Many Bros?, the roguelike auto-battler from Butterscotch Shenanigans, is about to receive seven new sports-themed bros, a Challenge Mode, a completely revamped upgrade system, and up to 1,906,884 ways to build a uniquely styled bro army.
How many bros are too many? Developer Butterscotch Shenanigans clearly isn't interested in finding out.
Since its release on Steam on July 30, 2026, How Many Bros? has sold over 300,000 copies. Now, just three months later, the studio is ready to launch the major 1.1 update on October 29, adding more members to the bro army.
This time, the bros are hitting the sports field, ready to show off their skills! Football Bros, Basketball Bros, American Football Bros, Hockey Bros, Tennis Bros, Coach Bros, and Commentator Bros will join the roster, bringing even more chaos to this already absurd team. These new members also raise some thought-provoking strategic questions, such as:
l Should you give your bros creatine or ibuprofen?
l Is the Basketball Bro better suited for playing bongo drums or earning a black belt?
l If they were to undergo therapy, who would need it more: the Football Bros or the Coach Bro?
With the addition of these seven new bros, the number of possible team combinations in the game will more than double, increasing from 850,668 to 1,906,884. This means players will have nearly 2 million different ways to assemble their bro armies, discover unexpected synergies, and test whether their increasingly outlandish tactics actually work.
However, sports-themed bros aren't the only addition in this update. Version 1.1 will also introduce a Challenge Mode, offering players new trials to test their team builds and tactical strategies.
Additionally, the redesigned upgrade system will provide permanent stat bonuses and give players greater freedom across multiple runs to decide how their bros develop.
More bros, more combinations, and more opportunities to try new gameplay! Version 1.1 will bring rich new content for returning players and offer newcomers more chances to explore—just how far can a bro army take them?
