BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk criticized game industry executives for lacking hands-on experience in making games and not understanding how game development actually works. These comments came after Electronic Arts shut down BioWare.
In an interview with 80lv, Zeschuk revealed that he was fishing when the news of BioWare's closure broke, and only learned about it hours later. By the time he flew home a few days later, he had temporarily put the matter aside.
Zeschuk and fellow BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka have been away from the video game industry for nearly 15 years, keeping their distance from the field since then. Zeschuk currently runs Blind Enthusiasm Brewing Company in Alberta and works with a small number of former BioWare employees.
Muzyka continues to lead Threshold Impact, the investment firm he founded in 2012, while also holding several positions at the University of Alberta.
